Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics/Actuarial Sciences, Economics, Government and Public Administration, or related field

  • Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in leading or supporting large tasks, demonstrated ability to manage a project and to provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub-tasks
  • Desired: Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review, evaluate, develop, and update federal financial policies and procedures
  • Draft new federal financial policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and collaborate with client(s) in drafting policies and procedures
  • Support client(s) in the development and deployment of solutions supporting strategic initiatives
  • Provide technical writing support in drafting updates in line with OCFOs responses to comments
  • Leverage commercial, private sector, or federal industry experience (e.g., coordination with small businesses, non-traditional defense vendors)
  • Design, develop, and deliver training design and development of reference guidance
  • Conduct development and delivery of presentations and papers to client personnel
  • Perform ad-hoc research tasks
  • Interface and communicate with client(s), remotely and/or in-person

Qualities and Required Experience:

  • Experience with federal financial management policies and procedures, including accounts payable and accruals, funds control, and internal controls
  • Experience evaluating, drafting, and updating policies and procedures
  • Experience developing new policies related to federal financial management
  • Understand FASAB, U.S. Treasury guidance, and other federal financial management policies
  • Experience with finance transformation and/or process improvement
  • Proficiency conducting research on various issues related to federal financial management policies
  • Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls Program
  • Strong business writing ability
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials
