Position Overview: - Service Technician
Duties & Responsibilities: - The aim of this role will be to provide service, maintenance, repair, and installation of welding & cutting products along with educating our customers/distributors/agents with their welding and cutting product techniques and to be able to generate after sales revenue.
Repair and troubleshooting: This role will ensure servicing is completed to a high standard within agreed timeline with direct and indirect customers.
- Provide alternative solutions to customers to solve their short-term cover if repair cannot be completed on time.
- Provide proper diagnostics to find root cause of the problem.
- Advise to change only defective item, not the full system.
- Report the daily activities to service coordinator through Innosoft. Installations:
- Lead on installation from start to finish [Plan Pre-Installation Visit, make sure all requirements are present at customer site before installation start].
- Test, train, and commission, and handover
- Collect signed acceptance certificate from customer Sales and lead generation:
- Generate Spare parts list for existing installations
- Initiate critical spare parts discussions with customer.
- Make sure customer is using ESAB Genuine parts and define their source of buying.
- Define reason for using copy parts if found, and report to product management.
- Generate leads for retrofits and report to product management. Other Activities: In case of no service calls, conduct regular customer visits for sales and lead generation activities. Understand more about customers cutting and welding activities. Machine documentation:
- Update & Maintain list of Installed bases.
- Update & Maintain Machine documentations of all installed base.
- Prepare critical complaint report regularly and maintain a copy in the server location.
- Prepare quality complaint report for products and suggestion for development. Trainings:
- Train customers & distributors on process, operation, and maintenance. Demonstrations:
- Conduct successful demonstrations at customer places & ESAB process center. Key interfaces:
- Key interfaces will include Customers/distributors/agents, logistics, sales department, local product management and central After Sales Team.
Qualifications (Include education, experience, technical, travel and language requirements) Language Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English are required and any additional language skills would be an advantage. Education Requirements
- Diploma or bachelors degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline Technical Requirements
- A self-motivated, commercially focused candidate with excellent communication skills.
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to think spontaneously.
- Strong Technical skills with the ability to improvise and solve product queries
- A valid local driving license is essential Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 4 - 6 years as a service technician in Welding and Cutting Industry Mobility & Travel Requirements
- This role will involve travel within the assigned region
