Job Title: Assistant Consultant – Rheumatology
Location: Qassim, Saudi Arabia

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive immunological and rheumatological care to patients.
- Deliver inpatient and ambulatory care under consultant supervision.
- Offer consultative services as requested by other departments.
- Supervise fellows, residents, interns, and assistant physicians, ensuring high standards of training and clinical performance.
- Actively participate in teaching programs, fellowship training, and continuous educational improvement.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and special procedures as privileged.
- Participate in on‑call coverage and subspecialty services as per hospital regulations.
- Attend departmental clinical, educational, and patient welfare meetings.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Engage in scientific research, case presentations, and CME activities.
- Serve on committees and participate in administrative functions as required.
- Document progress notes, discharge summaries, and medical reports accurately.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards, adhering to hospital bylaws and policies.
- Demonstrate respect and professionalism toward patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Section or Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate from a recognized medical school.
- Completion of required training in Rheumatology.
- Board certification in Rheumatology (Arab, Jordanian, Lebanese, or equivalent).
- Membership/Fellowship or equivalent fulfilling consultant criteria.
- Certificate recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- Dataflow verification is mandatory.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years post‑Board/Fellowship experience in Rheumatology.
- Registered member of the Saudi Board Council.
Language
- Proficiency in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
References
- Positive professional references attesting to skills, conduct, and ethical standards.
Functional Profile
- Responsibility Level: Non‑Supervisory, with autonomous decision‑making as per privileging.
- Systems & Equipment: Electronic Medical Records, BestCare system.
- Relationships & Communication: Collaborates with pediatricians, subspecialty consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients.
- Mental Demands:
- Documentation of progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Active involvement in departmental educational activities.
- Development and review of clinical guidelines (DPP, IDPP, CPG).
- Case presentations and committee contributions.
