Job Title: Section Head, Neurosurgery Department: Neurosurgery

SHORT DESCRIPTION

An excellent opportunity to lead the Neurosurgery Department as Section Head at one of the most prestigious and top-tier hospitals in Qassim, Saudi Arabia.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Section Head of Neurosurgery provides overall leadership and direction for the department, ensuring excellence in clinical care, surgical innovation, education, and research. This role involves supervising consultants, fellows, residents, and staff, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and departmental performance. The Section Head will also represent the department in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning and development.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide medical and administrative leadership for the Neurosurgery Department.
  • Oversee clinical services, ensuring high-quality neurosurgical care across subspecialties.
  • Supervise and mentor consultants, fellows, residents, and staff physicians.
  • Lead departmental teaching, training, and research initiatives.
  • Represent the department in hospital committees and contribute to policy development.
  • Drive innovation in neurosurgical techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and professional standards.
  • Perform advanced neurosurgical procedures within granted privileges.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by hospital leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Graduate from a recognized medical school.
  • Completion of residency and fellowship training in Neurosurgery.
  • Board Certification (CCT UK/Ireland, DES, American Board, or equivalent).
  • Membership and/or Fellowship in recognized international neurosurgical societies.
  • Certification recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Dataflow verification is mandatory.

Professional Experience

  • Prior leadership experience as Section Head or Chief of Department  preferred.
  • Minimum 3–4 years post-board/fellowship in Neurosurgery.
  • Registered member of the Saudi Board Council.

Language

  • Proficiency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
