Job Main Responsibilities:
- Provide support and independently handle legal and compliance matters arising in the IMEA region, including, but not limited to:
- a) Providing strategic legal advice to members of the regional management team and other stakeholders.
- b) Providing legal support for the IMEA region relating particularly to commercial, corporate (including M&A), governance and employment matters.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including complex and multi-jurisdictional contracts; develop contract strategies.
- Supporting with customer claim management, advice in warranty and product liability cases.
- Managing and coordinating legal disputes.
- Conducting internal compliance investigations.
- Identifying, reporting, monitoring and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
- Monitoring the development of laws and regulations as well as relevant best practices; communicating such developments within the organization.
- Developing and conducting legal and compliance trainings.
- Developing and implementing internal policies and processes.
- Corporate housekeeping for subsidiaries in IMEA region.
- Instructing and supervising external counsel.
- Communicating with authorities.
- Legal support to group functions and global or cross-regional projects and working groups.
- Supporting the regional Legal & Compliance team.
Required Education and Experience:
- Degree in law from reputable university; a degree or post graduate studies in International Business Law is preferred.
- Qualified to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.
- MBA is a plus.
- 8-10 years of relevant work experience as in-house counsel in international company, preferably in manufacturing field (Pharma, FMCG, Packaging etc.) ; work experience in international/regional law firm is a plus.
- Work experience in relevant IMEA jurisdictions is highly required.
