A rising healthcare consultancy company operating across the Middle East region is hiring a Chief Operations Officer (COO). The ideal candidate is required to have a blend of experience, qualifications, and specific skills.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, expand service offerings, and enhance the company's competitive position in the healthcare consultancy market.
- Operational Oversight: Provide oversight and guidance to operational teams, ensuring the efficient delivery of consulting services, adherence to project timelines, and achievement of client objectives.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients, understanding their needs, identifying opportunities for additional services, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and participate in client presentations and negotiations to win new consulting projects and expand the company's client base.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of consultants, project managers, and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the consultancy division, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, to achieve revenue targets and profitability goals.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services that meet or exceed client expectations and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of healthcare regulations, policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring that consultancy services are delivered in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with consulting projects, proactively addressing issues as they arise to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other senior executives, including the CEO and CFO, to align operational strategies with overall company objectives and drive cross-functional initiatives.
The Ideal candidate must have the following competencies:
- Experience in Healthcare Industry: Extensive experience working within the healthcare industry, preferably in consultancy roles, with a deep understanding of its nuances, regulations, and challenges.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership ability with a track record of managing teams, driving initiatives, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the complexities of the healthcare market, including payer-provider dynamics, regulatory compliance, and emerging trends.
- Client Management Skills: Excellent client management skills with experience in building and maintaining relationships with healthcare clients, understanding their needs, and delivering value-added solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze data, trends, and market insights to inform strategic decision-making and drive operational efficiencies.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Change Management: Proven ability to lead organizational change initiatives, adapt to evolving market conditions, and drive innovation within the company.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree: Typically in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or Master's in Healthcare Administration are often preferred.
- Years of Experience: At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare management, consulting, or related roles, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Six Sigma are preferred.
