The position offers an opportunity to work within a highly specialized multidisciplinary environment providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents with complex hematological and oncological conditions, including patients requiring hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and cellular therapies.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Consultant in Pediatric Hematology / Oncology / Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy, you will provide expert clinical care for pediatric patients with malignant and non-malignant hematological disorders and pediatric cancers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment and management of complex patients, including those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary care, transplant planning and follow-up, clinical research, clinical trials, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives.

You will contribute to the continued development of the hospital's specialized pediatric hematology, oncology, transplantation, and cellular therapy services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides high-quality Pediatric Hematology and Oncology care to patients.
• Provides expert clinical management of complex pediatric hematological and oncological conditions.
• Provides consultative services as requested.
• Evaluates and manages patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).
• Participates in the assessment, preparation, transplantation, and long-term follow-up of pediatric transplant patients.
• Provides clinical expertise in cellular therapy, where applicable.
• Participates in multidisciplinary transplant and oncology teams, including case conferences and tumor/transplant boards.
• Manages transplant-related complications and provides appropriate post-transplant care.
• Participates in clinical trials, research activities, and development of treatment protocols.
• Actively participates in the training and teaching of residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.
• Supervises fellows, staff/assistant physicians, and residents as appropriate.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical service development initiatives.
• Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed.
• Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certification

• Graduate from a recognized medical school of good standing.
• Completion of required postgraduate training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation / Cellular Therapy from a recognized center.
• American Board Certification or equivalent recognized qualification.
• UK: CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training).
• Australia: FRACP (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians).
• A qualification recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) is required.
• DataFlow verification is required.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of post-board/post-fellowship experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Demonstrated experience in the management of complex pediatric hematology and oncology patients.
• Significant experience in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in pediatric patients.
• Experience in allogeneic and/or autologous stem cell transplantation, as applicable to the service.
• Experience managing transplant-related complications and post-transplant patients.
• Experience with cellular therapies and contemporary treatment approaches is highly desirable.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary pediatric oncology and transplant teams.
• Experience with clinical trials, research, and evidence-based treatment protocols.
• Evidence of research, publications, teaching, or program development/leadership.
• Age below 58 years.

Language

• Proficiency in English.
• Arabic proficiency is preferred.
