The Client is a KENAS (Kenya Accreditation Service) accredited testing laboratory satisfying the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 of the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. They are also designated by NEMA (National Environment Management Authority) to undertake Noise Level Measurement, Water Quality, Air Quality and Soil Analysis based on ISO 17025 for lab competence.

Job Title: Lab Sales and Marketing Manager

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Summary:

Drive growth of laboratory testing services by leading sales and marketing strategy, improving customer engagement, and expanding market presence across key industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

§ Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and expand the customer base.

§ Lead and manage the sales and marketing team, setting goals, coaching, and monitoring performance.

§ Establish and strengthen client relationships through direct engagement, needs assessment, and post-sale support.

§ Identify and pursue new market opportunities and emerging sectors.

§ Utilize CRM (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management, customer interactions, and reporting.

§ Present sales forecasts, performance reports, and market insights to senior leadership.

§ Collaborate with technical and operational teams to align solutions with client needs.

§ Plan and execute promotional activities, including trade shows, marketing campaigns, and networking with stakeholders.

§ Track competitor activity, pricing, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

§ Ensure excellent customer service, resolving issues and improving satisfaction.

§ Contribute to pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and proposal development.

§ Support onboarding and training of sales and marketing staff.

Qualifications:

§ Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Science, Technology, Engineering, Nutrition, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.

§ 3-7 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in food testing, food safety, or lab services.

§ Proven ability to meet/exceed sales targets and grow market share.

§ Strong knowledge of food testing laboratory operations or related technical services.

§ Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

§ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

§ Ability to identify client needs and develop tailored value-based solutions.
