Job Description
Overview:
Solvochem is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Solvents Sales Representative to join our team in East Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting markets, generating sales, building client relationships, and coordinating with various Solvochem branches to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Visits and Client Engagement:
- Visit markets as needed to introduce Solvochem, generate sales, and build relationships with clients.
- Provide sales assistance to the team on the ground, including daily follow-ups, supervision, and designing customer visits.
- Customer and Order Management:
- Address business inquiries from customers, follow up on invoicing, and ensure prompt deliveries.
- Coordinate with Solvochem East Africa, Solvochem Holland, and Jordan on direct orders, shipments, clearance, and consignment deliveries.
- Introduce new products to the markets.
- Reporting and Forecasting:
- Prepare weekly sales reports on visits and customer interactions.
- Follow up with existing clients and introduce Solvochem to new clients in Africa.
- Prepare and follow up on weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts, comparing them to actual sales achieved.
- Relationship Building and Sales Targets:
- Maintain and build key customer relationships.
- Drive and achieve sales orders and gross profit margin goals.
- Uncover and develop new business opportunities, including new customers and new products.
- Customer Needs and Product Management:
- Serve as a link between customer/base market needs and Solvochem.
- Uncover customer needs and communicate them to management.
- Contribute to product management tasks such as pricing, order processing, customer service, competitive activity, and forecasting/planning as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the chemical industry or a related field.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to travel frequently within East Africa and internationally as required.
