Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for everyone who visits our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the facility
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Collect and process payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries and provide accurate information
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in MS Office and electronic medical records systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Durban, South Africa. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required. The employee will be entitled to benefits such as medical insurance and paid time off.
