Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Hospital Porter to join our team. The Hospital Porter will be responsible for transporting patients, medical equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital. They will also assist with basic patient care and perform general cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Transport patients to and from various areas of the hospital, including operating rooms, diagnostic imaging, and patient rooms

- Assist with transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers

- Transport medical equipment, supplies, and specimens to different areas of the hospital

- Assist with basic patient care tasks, such as changing bed linens, helping with meals, and providing comfort and support to patients

- Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms and common areas

- Dispose of medical waste and linens according to hospital procedures

- Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate department

- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times

- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff

- Attend training and meetings as required by the hospital.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience as a porter or in a similar role preferred

- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and equipment

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Physical stamina to perform duties such as lifting and pushing heavy objects

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
