Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive overall delivery of a project at a biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Puerto Rico. This is a hands-on leadership role covering scope, schedule, and budget ownership through to execution and qualification within a regulated Life Sciences environment.

The role places strong emphasis on project governance, cross-functional coordination across process, automation, engineering, and quality teams, and stakeholder management — ensuring alignment with project timelines, compliance standards, and budget requirements. The role is based onsite in Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own overall delivery of the project, including scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop and manage the project plan, schedule, and key milestones
  • Lead project design reviews and key project decisions
  • Direct the Process Lead and Automation Lead in delivery of their respective scopes
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Process, Automation, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality
  • Manage external consultants, contractors, and vendor deliverables
  • Ensure adherence to GxP and applicable regulatory frameworks throughout project execution
  • Track and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively
  • Report regularly to leadership on status, risks, budget, and forecast
  • Manage stakeholder communication, ensuring clear visibility on project progress and deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • Significant experience managing capital projects in pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing (essential)
  • Proven experience delivering projects for drug substance / biologics manufacturing facilities
  • Experience with brownfield/capacity-expansion projects preferred
  • Solid understanding of GxP environments and regulatory frameworks (GMP / GAMP5)
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across Process, Automation, Engineering, and Quality
  • Strong vendor and contractor management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment, working onsite in Puerto Rico
