Our client is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup backed by international investors and built by a strong technical founding team. They are now targeting the Australian market (enterprises + government) and need a high-impact sales leader to plant the flag, open major accounts and build the local footprint.

The Opportunity

As Senior Sales Manager, youre a hunter who thrives on creating new market opportunities. Youll be one of the first representatives in Australia, responsible for demand creation, new customer acquisition, and building meaningful relationships with CISOs, CTOs, Heads of IT Security and risk leadership. For someone who enjoys autonomy, strategic selling and high growth, this role offers an exciting career path in a startup environment with upside.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for Australia: identify high-potential enterprise accounts across verticals and geographies.

  • Prospect, engage and build trusted relationships with C-suite security/IT/ risk executives (CISOs, Heads of Security, CIOs).

  • Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, solution design, negotiation, close and handover to customer success.

  • Collaborate with marketing, product and regional APAC teams to localise messaging, build reference cases, establish partner channels.

  • Achieve defined revenue targets, pipeline metrics and market share goals.

  • Provide market feedback: competitive intelligence, customer insight, vertical-specific dynamics, help shape product roadmap.

  • Be entrepreneurial: build the sales playbook, establish best practices in a greenfield market, and evolve with the business.

Desired Profile

  • 7-12 years of enterprise sales experience in Australia or ANZ region.

  • Strong existing network of senior security/IT stakeholders (especially CISOs) in Australia (Melbourne/Sydney) across enterprises & large organisations.
  • Proven track record of hunting new business (not just account management) and opening brand-new markets, ideally for a technology or cybersecurity vendor.
  • Comfortable with high-ambiguity, startup environment: youll build many of the processes yourself while scaling.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and strategic-selling skills; solution selling mindset (vs transactional).
  • Ability to travel as required (within Australia and possibly APAC), and operate flexibly to align with global teams/time zones.
  • Self-starter, high-energy, resilient, comfortable carving out territory and proactively managing pipeline.
