Senior Java Developer - AWS (Mid-Senior level)

The brief:

This will be a backend service developer role, so experience with a standard framework such as Spring or Micronaut is required (we use Micronaut, so that’s preferred, but Spring is similar enough that it’ll be easy for someone to pick up Micronaut if they know Spring already). We’re also a native cloud company, based on AWS, so decent prior experience with AWS (especially, but not exclusively, serverless tech) is also required.

As a senior role, it will also involve designing/architecting solutions in the cloud – not just writing code to implement someone else’s design

The right candidate should be a quick learner, so should pick up any specific tech/knowledge they don’t already have pretty quickly. The senior tech team have all worked inside AWS previously, and have many years of experience to disseminate to quick keen learners but the major tech stack suitable candidates will need to have would be:

• AWS-native tech stack
• Lambda
• DynamoDB
• SQS
• SNS
• S3
• Cognito
• CDK
• (and more)
• Java
• Service framework – Micronaut (similar to Spring – will be easy to pick up if they’re familiar with Spring or similar)
• Time-series SQL database (Timescale) (this is less important as it’s mostly managed by our Data Science team)
