Job Openings CDL-A Driver - Out Sunday Home Friday - Paid Training

About the job CDL-A Driver - Out Sunday Home Friday - Paid Training

We are hiring Class A drivers around Lafayette and the north side of Indianapolis for a dedicated retail fleet that runs Sunday to Friday. You leave on Sunday, deliver to stores across eight Midwest states, and you are back home on Friday for your 34-hour restart. You are paid by the day, $247 for every day worked, and that comes to about $1,400 to $1,500 a week. New CDL holders train with a mentor first. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience go straight to their own truck.

How you are paid

  • $247 for every day you work, six days a week
  • About $1,400 to $1,500 a week
  • $650 a week during training (new CDL holders)
  • Paid weekly by direct deposit

Your week, day by day

Sunday: you leave from the Indianapolis area with a loaded trailer.
Monday to Thursday: you deliver to stores across Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan. About 1,600 to 1,900 miles a week.
Friday: you head home for your 34-hour restart.

The freight is no-touch. You do not unload. The job is not easy, though, and you should know that going in. Some deliveries are at malls, the backing is tight, some nights you will drive, and some stops are double drop and hooks. You are off on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

New to driving?

A recruiter calls and checks your license and record with you. Orientation takes two days at most, with the hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back, and pays $300 once you are hired. Then 3 to 5 weeks with a mentor, about 200 to 250 hours, at $650 a week. Then you drive solo on this fleet.

Already driving?

If you have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, you skip mentor training. After orientation you get your own assigned truck and start at full day pay.
