About the job CDL-A Regional Dry Van - School Grads Trained - Home Every Two Weeks
This dry van fleet works the East and nothing else. Loads run up and down the eastern seaboard and seldom go far west, so you learn one part of the country well and you are home every two weeks. Drivers from Chester, Marcus Hook, Upland and the rest of Delaware County are hired here. If you just finished CDL school, you are paid to train. If you already drive, you start solo.
Earnings
- Average solo pay: $1,000 to $1,200 a week
- Mileage: $0.55 to $0.65 per mile based on verifiable experience
- About 2,000 miles a week
- Performance bonus plan on top
- $15 per extra stop
- New solo drivers: $1,000 weekly guarantee for 3 months
Training for new CDL holders
You train on the road for 3 to 5 weeks (200 to 250 hours) with a mentor and earn $650 every week. You need a completed truck driving school of at least 120 hours. Your mentor signs you off before you drive alone, so you are not pushed out early.
Experienced drivers
Six months or more of recent experience puts you straight into your own truck after orientation. Your mileage rate reflects the experience you can verify.
