About the job CDL-A Entry-Level Truck Driver - Paid Training
If you recently graduated from CDL school, American Driver offers a direct path to a stable driving career. Our structured, paid training program pairs you with an experienced mentor on actual regional routes. We do not use simulators or classrooms for this phase—you will gain real-world experience on the road while receiving a guaranteed weekly paycheck.
Compensation and Pay Growth
We provide a clear, guaranteed pay structure to support you as you transition to driving solo:
- Phase 1: On-the-Road Training (4–6 Weeks): $650 flat rate per week.
- Phase 2: First 3 Months Solo: $0.56 per mile with a guaranteed minimum of $1,000 per week.
- Phase 3: After 3 Months: Performance-based scaling from $0.56 to $0.64 per mile (Average weekly earnings: $1,200 – $1,700).
What You Will Learn
During your 4 to 6 weeks of training, you will work alongside a dedicated trainer to master:
- Hands-on Class A tractor-trailer operations in regional terrain.
- ELD systems and strict Hours-of-Service (HOS) compliance.
- Thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR).
- Standard dispatch communication and corporate logging procedures.
Operational Details
Once you clear training and transition to a solo driver, your routine will consist of:
- Freight: Consistent regional dry van freight.
- Home Time: Scheduled weekly -BI WEEKLY home time for proper rest.
- Equipment: Late-model, fully maintained, and 100% DOT-compliant fleet.
- Compliance: Maintenance of accurate logs and professional communication with dispatch at all times.
Hiring Requirements
Candidates must meet all the following criteria to be considered for employment:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum 120 hours of training completed at an accredited CDL school.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record (MVR) and solid safety history.
- Ability to pass a standard DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening.
