CDL-A drivers based near Columbus, Ohio running this account typically average 1,800–2,000 miles per week with weekly earnings between $1,200 and $1,500 hauling dry van freight across the Eastern United States. Routes operate east of I-35 with consistent out-and-back lanes toward Ohio and dispatch support from a dedicated planner.
American Driver is hiring both experienced drivers and drivers who qualify for our training program.
PAY
- $0.56–$0.64 CPM depending on experience
- Average weekly pay $1,300–$1,500
- $15 stop pay
- $40 short haul pay for loads under 100 miles
- Driver performance bonus available
FREIGHT
- Dry van freight across the Eastern U.S.
- Drop and hook loads
- Preloaded trailers
- Live load and live unload when required
- Consistent freight with dedicated planning support
MILES
- Average 1,800–2,000 miles per week
- Steady dispatch and consistent freight flow
HOME TIME
- Out two weeks at a time with 34/48 reset
EQUIPMENT
- Late-model Freightliner and Kenworth tractors
- Automatic and 10-speed transmissions
- Average tractor age approximately 1.5 years
- Trucks permanently assigned to drivers
- Many units equipped with inverter or APU
DRIVER PROGRAMS
- Rider program available
- Pet policy available
- EZ Pass and PrePass provided
- Optional per diem program
ENTRY-LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAM
- Drivers with limited OTR experience may qualify for the company training program.
- 3–5 week paid training with an experienced mentor
- Training covers safe operation, trip planning, and ELD compliance
- Advancement to solo driving based on performance

REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have held a valid U.S. driver's license for at least 12 months
- Acceptable driving record
- Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
