This is a dedicated retail distribution run out of the Ashley, IN area. The pay is high because the freight is hands-on — you unload at the stores, box by box — and the miles are short, so you're home weekly for your 34-hour reset. If you don't mind touch freight and early starts, this seat pays like few others.

What you'll earn

• $1,900 a week on average, about $98,800 a year; top earners make $2,200 a week
• $0.89 to $0.92 a mile based on experience
• All-in pay up to $1.85 a mile, including unload and accessorial pay
• $350 per trailer unload, $30 per backhaul
• $2,500 sign-on bonus (eligibility terms apply)
• Paid weekly by direct deposit

Your week

A dedicated retail account delivering across Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin, about 1,110 miles a week over roughly 3 loads. Freight is 100% driver-unload, box by box on rollers, with 3 to 5 stops per route. Deliveries are early morning, so expect night driving and a 10-hour break before you unload; some weekend and holiday work as it falls. Home weekly for your reset.

Your truck

A late-model International, Freightliner or Kenworth, assigned, with 24/7 dispatch.

What you need

• Valid Class A CDL in your state of residence, age 21 or older
• Recent, verifiable CDL-A driving experience
• Able to hand-unload freight box by box and work in extreme temperatures
• Secure parking for your truck and trailer during home time (two forms of security, such as a guard or cameras)
• Acceptable driving record; no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• No DUI/DWI in the past 5 years; DOT physical and hair and urine drug screen
