Job Description Storekeeper
Purpose of Position:
- Ensures the hotel and uniform storage area is clean and well-maintained.
- Orders, receives, and inspects all hotel and uniform supplies, ensuring inventory levels are accurate and within budget.
- Maintains a guest-oriented service culture, contributing to guest satisfaction and company profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal requisitions for approval by relevant supervisors.
- Work with the Inventory Manager to process external requisitions in MXP.
- Manage and process uniforms in MXP, ensuring correct inventory tracking.
- Load and offload hotel and uniform storerooms, ensuring proper handling and coordination of goods.
- Maintain clean and organized storerooms, ensuring all stored items meet quality standards and comply with Public Health Policies.
- Monitor expiration dates of stored items and ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO procedures.
- Implement and oversee Stock Rotation Procedures, ensuring storerooms are properly organized.
- Participate in "The Daily Reunion" meetings to align with team operations and Vikings STAR Service Standards.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Maintain professional grooming standards in line with Vikings Image and Uniform Policies.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather conditions, to prevent loss or damage.
- Work flexibly across different shifts, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Stay knowledgeable about ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Support achieving Inventory Department goals (quality and financial targets).
- Follow safety and security policies, participating in fire prevention and evacuation drills.
- Perform a Full Inventory Cycle Check of the assigned store twice a month, before full loading.
Qualification (Your Profile)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Storekeeper, F&B Storekeeper, or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of food products, storeroom operations, and storage procedures.
- Previous shipboard experience is an advantage.
- Fluent in English strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage.
- Flexible, stress-resistant, team player, with an exceptional work ethic.
- Hands-on experience with material management systems (MXP preferred).
- Strong administrative skills, proficient in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Professional appearance, impeccable hygiene standards, and thorough knowledge of Public Health Policies.
