Job Overview:

We are seeking a Third Engineer to join a container vessel. The Third Engineer is responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the ships engine and mechanical systems, ensuring the vessels smooth and efficient performance while complying with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Second Engineer in maintaining and operating the main and auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, and other mechanical systems.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.

Monitor and record engine performance, fuel and lubricant consumption, and other technical parameters.

Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical failures and malfunctions.

Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Maintain engine room logbooks, maintenance reports, and spare parts inventory.

Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.

Supervise and train junior engine crew as needed.

Report any technical issues or required maintenance to the Second Engineer.

Support the team in maintaining environmental protection measures and pollution control.

Requirements:

Valid Third Engineer License or equivalent certification.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Third Engineer on container vessels.

Strong understanding of marine engineering, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
