Job Description Hotel Storekeeper
Purpose of Position:
- Ensures the hotel and uniform storage area is kept clean and organized.
- Orders all hotel and uniform supplies and inspects them for quality and accuracy during loading operations.
- Maintains a guest-oriented service culture, contributing to guest satisfaction and company profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal requisitions for approval by relevant supervisors.
- Work with the Inventory Manager to prepare external requisitions and process data in MXP.
- Manage and process uniforms in MXP, ensuring proper tracking.
- Load and offload items from the Hotel and Uniform Central Storerooms, coordinating with staff for proper handling.
- Ensure all stored items are in good condition and comply with Public Health Policies.
- Monitor expiration dates of stored items and follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) regulations.
- Implement correct Stock Rotation Procedures, ensuring storerooms remain properly organized.
- Participate in The Daily Reunion to align with team operational needs and STAR Service Standards.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and use proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain professional grooming standards in line with Vikings Image and Uniform Policies.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather conditions, to prevent loss or damage.
- Work flexibly across different shifts, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Gain knowledge of ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Support achieving Inventory Department goals (quality and financial targets).
- Follow safety and security policies, participating in fire prevention and evacuation drills.
- Conduct Full Inventory Cycle Checks of assigned storerooms twice a month, before every full loading.
Qualification (Your Profile)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Hotel Storekeeper or in a similar role.
- Shipboard experience in the position is required.
- Extensive knowledge of hotel & uniform operations, storeroom management, and storage procedures.
- Fluent in English strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage.
- Flexible, stress-resistant, and team player, with an exceptional work ethic.
- Experience with material management systems MXP experience is preferred.
- Strong administrative skills, proficient in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Positive and hands-on personality, with a professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Public Health Policies.
