Job Overview:

We are seeking a Wiper to join a container vessel. The Wiper is responsible for assisting the engine crew in cleaning, maintaining, and performing basic mechanical tasks in the engine room, ensuring the vessels smooth operation while complying with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Engineers and Oilers in maintaining and operating the main and auxiliary engines, boilers, and pumps.

Perform cleaning and maintenance of the engine room, machinery, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Assist in lubrication and routine checks of moving parts to prevent wear and tear.

Monitor fuel and oil levels, reporting any abnormalities to senior engineers.

Participate in safety drills, emergency procedures, and firefighting training.

Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and company safety policies.

Assist in waste management and pollution control in accordance with environmental regulations.

Keep the engine room organized and free of hazards.

Follow instructions from the Chief Engineer, First Engineer, and other senior engineering officers.

Requirements:

Valid STCW certification and relevant maritime training.

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Wiper on container vessels (or onboard training for fresh candidates).

Basic understanding of marine engineering, machinery maintenance, and lubrication procedures.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and other maritime regulations.

Strong physical fitness and ability to work in hot and confined spaces.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Fluent in English (basic proficiency for maritime communication).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
