OFFICER/DECK CADET

Job Overview

A Deck Cadet supports deck officers in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Key duties include assisting with navigation and ship maneuvers, participating in daily deck operations and maintenance, inspecting equipment, helping with mooring operations, reporting safety hazards, joining emergency drills, maintaining assigned logs, and attending training to develop seamanship skills.

Experience Required

• No prior professional experience is required.
  

• Requires enrollment in a maritime academy or training program, basic seamanship and navigation knowledge, and an understanding of maritime safety practices.
