Position Overview
The Casino Slot Attendant is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of slot machines in the onboard casino while delivering excellent guest service. This role combines technical troubleshooting, cash handling, and frontline guest interaction in a dynamic cruise ship environment.
You will assist guests, manage jackpot payouts, handle machine fills, and ensure gaming equipment operates properly throughout your shift.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Duties
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on slot machines
- Identify and resolve machine malfunctions; escalate complex issues to Slot Technician
- Conduct daily inspections of slot machines and casino equipment
- Fill machines with coins when required
- Test coin and cash equipment prior to counts
- Participate in slot counts according to casino policies
Cash Handling & Gaming Transactions
- Process jackpot payouts according to established policies
- Prepare written authorization for jackpot transactions
- Collect coins and currency from change machines
- Reconcile and settle funds with cashier cage
- Maintain accuracy in all financial transactions
Guest Service & Casino Floor Presence
- Maintain active presence on the casino floor
- Assist guests with slot machine usage and provide gaming information
- Respond professionally to guest inquiries and concerns
- Identify and report suspicious behavior or security issues
- Notify management of VIP or high-value guests
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Previous casino or slot attendant experience preferred
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or electronic troubleshooting is an advantage
- Strong customer service background required
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical/electrical issues
- Strong numerical skills and ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to count currency quickly and accurately
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and financial matters responsibly
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Language
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German are an advantage
