PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of technical operations, ensuring that client systems, services, and infrastructure work efficiently and securely.
To lead teams, ensuring service delivery excellence, and optimizing operational processes to enhance efficiency, security, and business performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT department, with expertise in technical operations, system management, and team leadership.
At least 3 years of experience in operations management.
Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems and equipment.
Experience in server and network management, cybersecurity, and software integrations.
Strong project management and budget management skills.
Operational Systems & Processes
- Monitor and analyze system performance, recommending improvements.
- Assist in resolving escalated IT issues and provide technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with data handling and security protocols.
- Develop and implement IT best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team for service contracts and software license renewals.
Optimize Service Delivery
- Oversee network maintenance, server optimization, and security protocols.
- Manage device access, user security, and system backups.
- Ensure timely installation, configuration, and upgrades of IT systems.
- Track projects and ensure timely completion.
Cost & Budget Management
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Present cost-saving strategies to executives.
Performance Management & Development
- Set KPIs and performance goals for the IT operations team.
- Implement training programs and ensure team members are equipped to perform.
- Manage employee performance and transitions when necessary.
Operations Management
- Ensure teams have the right tools and resources to perform efficiently.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to address operational challenges.
- Identify new opportunities to improve business operations.
Technical Competencies
- Experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, and data protection.
