PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • To lead and oversee the IT departments technical operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • To provide strategic leadership to the IT team, manage and execute complex IT projects, and ensure that the organizations technology resources align with business objectives.
  • To maintain high standards of network security, system reliability, and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Oversee daily technical operations, ensuring that IT systems and infrastructure function efficiently and reliably.
    • Lead, mentor, and supervise the IT team, including network administrators, system administrators, and support technicians.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the IT team on complex issues, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
    • Manage and prioritize the workload of the IT team to meet project deadlines and service level agreements.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan and execute Technical projects, including system upgrades, network expansions, and migrations.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop Technical solutions that align with business objectives.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • System Administration:
    • Manage and maintain Technical infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and backup solutions.
    • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
    • Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
    • Perform regular system audits and implement improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize costs and quality.
    • Monitor vendor performance to ensure contractual obligations are met.

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.

Level of Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field

Experience:

  • Certifications:
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification.
  • Fortinet NSE 4 certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the IT industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in managing IT projects, network administration, and technical support.
  • A valid drivers license with at least 5 years of driving experience.
