Maintenance Lead 

6 AM -6 PM (swing shifts) Day to Night (Ability to work weekends) Ideal candidate must be able to train on all 3 shifts. 

The Maintenance Lead is directly responsible for the assignment, coordination, and/or execution of activities within the Maintenance group to ensure a productive workforce that supports all departments. They will oversee planning and preparation of work orders for work to be performed by the Maintenance department.

The maintenance Lead will interact with all departments in the company. This position will also interact with vendors on occasion for ordering parts and/or to resolve any concerns they may have with our packaging operation.

Responsibilities: 

1. Determine schedules and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment failures, and skill of personnel.

2. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.

3. Assist general manager in the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.

4. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

5. Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.

6. Purchase and/or assist in purchases of materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.

7. Perform maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

8. Occasionally may need to meet with vendors and/or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.

9. Confer with other departments to coordinate work activities when needed.

10. Responsible for the day-to-day activities of maintenance personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively, efficiently and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.

11. Oversee preparation of work instructions that provide direction to the maintenance department for maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and the potential implementation of modifications as approved by management.

12. Conduct field inspections to identify and analyze potential corrective and preventive maintenance procedures.

Requirements: 

1. Strong communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills.

2. Bilingual in English and Spanish a strongly recommended.

3. Demonstrates initiative, planning work and carrying out tasks without detailed instructions; makes constructive suggestions; prepares for problems or opportunities in advance and undertakes additional responsibilities.

4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work to meet assigned deadlines.

5. Ability to adapt quickly to change and be open to considering new approaches to solving problems and work processes.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma and/or experience in same business. Must have at least one year of lead/supervisor position.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

1. Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and Outlook.
