About the job CNC MILL Machinist
CNC MILL MACHINIST Directly responsible for the operation, care and daily operations of manufacturing machines and associated equipment. Equipment includes CNC/DNC machining centers, manual lathe and mill, bandsaw, table saw, grinders, and any other equipment used for fabrication.
The position will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will ensure safe and efficient production of various parts needed for company products. The position will also collaborate heavily with the company manufacturing engineer, and production shop to ensure quality parts are produced.
Essential Functions
Setting up CNC machining centers, including setting work offsets, tool length offsets, loading programs, etc.
Performing manual machining and fabrication as required by the company.
Keeping inventory of items such as drills, end mills, inserts, and other cutting tools, including the tool holders used in machine spindles.
Submitting orders for needed items such as tools, coolant, lubricants, material stock, etc.
Daily and weekly cleaning of the manufacturing area
Required Skills/Knowledge
5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment were setting up and operating CNC machines were frequent.
The individual considered for this role will have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and must have good attention to detail.
Thorough knowledge of machine operating code (g-code) and must be able to read and write programs.
The individual considered will have experience with and be able to apply machine speeds and feeds according to varying situations such as material, tool, and cutting conditions.
Experience working with one-off and custom tooling where scrap parts are unacceptable.
Experience working in a mold-making environment.
Experience working with DNC (Direct Numerical Control or drip-feeding) via a separate PC.
