Producing, filing and processing all necessary documents and conducting

research required for delinquent tax litigation through judgment

Describe this positions Essential Functions: (Tasks, duties & responsibilities of

1. Lawsuit production

2. Create, file and notice of pre-trial legal motions

3. Issue, deliver and monitor citations to ensure proper service is obtained

4. Preparation of trial docket sheets for all dockets

5. Work closely with the District Clerks, Constables and Courts staffs to

ensure efficient processing of suits

6. Accurately code and notate DTAX and ACT systems as necessary

7. Review District Clerk records for filings/answers in pending suits

8. Assist ad litems with cases and ensure delivery of all required documents

9. Prepare and send prejudgment payoffs

10. Attend dockets and assist attorney with docket and related judgements

11. Perform address, heirship & probate research for potential citations by

posting in accordance with local court requirements

12. Respond to calls and contacts from taxpayers in litigation

13. Notify Attorney/Area Manager of any questions/issues with suits

14. Occasionally may perform other duties about delinquent tax

collections within the scope of the job

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
  • Previous experience as a collector or in a related field (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with the Texas Property Tax system (Preferred)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
