Location: Brownsville, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, recondition, and maintain diesel and heavy equipment as required.
  • Fulfill administrative functions required under the maintenance processes.
  • Observe General Safety Rules.
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including forklifts, material handling, and similar mobile equipment as needed.
  • Perform diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of machine systems and components as needed.
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections.
  • Operate and test repaired equipment to confirm that specifications are met.
  • Complete thorough documentation on all reports and forms as required with work assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor professionally and efficiently.
  • Seek and participate in appropriate training opportunities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work is 100% outdoors.
  • Candidate will be exposed to weather conditions like heat, rain, and cold daily, and sometimes will work in closed spaces (warehouse, vessel hatch, etc.).
  • Capable of walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders up to 100ft high, and having fast physical reactions (jump, move).
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, terminal tractors, automobiles, top loaders, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems, diesel engine repairs, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Tools required to perform equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Clean MVR and dependable mode of transportation to and from work.
  • Excellent communication in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
