About the job Safety Representative

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Assist with data entry and recordkeeping. 
  • Investigate and document incidents, reporting incidents to medical management team. 
  • Track and Trend incident and accident statistics and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the creation of specific or project-specific safety plans as required.
  • Monitor and inspect employee activities and worksites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices, providing on-the-spot safety coaching as needed.
  • Consult with supervisors and workers on the practical application of safety principles, practices, or techniques in the field.
  • Conduct or schedule training sessions for employee groups.

Required Experience

  • Associate's degree in safety related field (two-year college or technical school) or higher, preferred or work equivalent required
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and required software uses

Qualifications preferred:

  • Engineering, Architecture, Construction or general industry or work with increasing responsibility in the areas of Safety, Training, and interpersonal skills
  • OSHA 30 Hr. Construction Safety and/or General Industry Safety
  • OSHA 500 or 501

Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment 75% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
