Quality Control Inspector
The Quality Control inspector ensures that the functional quality of products is maintained in accordance with established requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Use micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, height gage, test indicator for the purpose of determining the condition of machined parts.
- Determine machined parts to be acceptable or reject based on the criteria provided.
- Read and understand machine drawings or blueprints.
- Understand and properly apply the terms, accuracy, resolution, flatness, roundness, squareness, and concentricity to daily tasks.
- Properly operate all the measurement equipment in the Inspection Room.
- Produce inspection reports according to the formats required.
Requirements:
- Candidate must hold a valid high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
- At least 1 year of exposure to quality control processes.
- Knowledge of CMM operations preferred.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading including understanding dimensions, notes, call outs, bill of materials, surface finishes, tolerances and processes.
- Equipment knowledge - Demonstrate proper operation a machinist's scale, caliper, and micrometer.
- Math skills - Display the ability to use a calculator to add and subtract numbers in decimal form. Trigonometry is used in many of the position's tasks.
- Communication skills - Display the ability to explain the operational steps required to complete a job so that a fellow employee may understand it.
- Must speak and understand the English language.
