2nd shift Saw Operator

CNC Band Saw Operator - 2nd shift 

Ideal candidate will properly setup and operate manual and automatic feed band saw to cut raw metal stock to required lengths.  Schedule: Opening on 2nd Shift 2:00pm 2:00am

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sets-up sawing operation on saw.
2. Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, crane, and or forklift.
3. Read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments. 
4. Determine efficient feed and blade speed requirements for various types of materials. 
5. Saw the material to size and perform in process checks to assure that the process is in control.
6. Assures that the first piece is correct prior to presentation to Quality assurance for approval.
7. Work off a dispatch report to ensure that jobs are run in proper sequence. 
8. Produce good quality product that fully meets specifications. 
9. Manage workflow. 
10. Follow company policies 
11. Work safely with rest of manufacturing shop members to complete overall tasks. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read technical drawings / instructions. 
• Minimum 1 year of experience Production Band Saw Operator and metalworking experience. 
• Must have basic knowledge of the proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Blueprint reading is a must. 
• Basic Shop Math skills
• Basic Computers skills for time clock and inventory control. 
• Must be able to pass physical-fit and respirator test. 
• Myst be able to work wearing full face respirator. 
• Must be comfortable working with hazardous materials. 
• Good work ethic and able to work well with others & punctual.
• High School/ GED
• Trade or Technical School Diploma is a plus.
