Position Summary:
Prepares and maintains record of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment. Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records. Ships, receives, issues, and stocks parts and maintains computerized inventory system accordingly.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Maintain a daily distribution and receiving log for items received and shipped out of warehouse
  • Receive, stock, deliver, and distribute supplies throughout container terminal
  • Submits daily delivery tickets to Accounting department
  • Load/unload items. When receiving palletized shipments, operate forklift and overhead crane
  • Provide parts and customer service to staff via the parts counter
  • Inspect and receive goods into inventory by verifying quantities and part numbers, damage detection and acceptance by signing for received items. Enters data into inventory computer system
  • Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people, equipment, etc.) at all times
  • Perform inventory cycle counts; maintain inventory records
  • Perform general labor duties, including but not limited to sweeping and cleaning warehouse
  • Escort vendors without TWIC cards to/from warehouse

  • Performs other tasks as required

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • 1+ years related inventory experience required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:

  • Knowledge of computer operating systems and web-based inventory programs
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and occupational hazards
  • Knowledge of Port policies, procedures, safety rules and government

  • Forklift license required
  • A current, valid Texas driver's license is required
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
