BIM Engineer
About the job BIM Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
1. BIM Coordination
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary BIM coordination activities across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.
- Coordinate federated BIM models and ensure proper integration between different disciplines.
- Conduct regular clash detection and coordination reviews.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve hard clashes, soft clashes, and design coordination issues.
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to develop practical solutions to technical conflicts.
- Monitor and track clash resolution until closure.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
2. BIM Model Management
- Review of BIM models to ensure compliance with project requirements, BIM Execution
- Plans, and established modeling standards.
- Monitor model quality, accuracy, level of development/detail, naming conventions, and data requirements.
- Ensure models are properly structured and coordinated before issuing them for review or construction.
- Manage model federation and model exchange between disciplines.
- Review model revisions and ensure proper implementation of approved design changes.
- Maintain model integrity and prevent duplication or coordination errors.
3. BIM Standards & Procedures - Implement and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and procedures across project teams.
- Ensure compliance with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Support the development and updating of BIM Execution Plans, BIM protocols, and project-specific BIM requirements.
- Establish and maintain modeling standards, naming conventions, coordinates, shared parameters, and file structures.
- Ensure project teams follow agreed BIM deliverables and information exchange procedures.
- Assist in developing BIM templates, families, libraries, and standards when required.
4. Clash Detection & Resolution
- Perform detailed clash detection using appropriate BIM coordination software.
- Review clash reports and prioritize issues based on project impact.
- Assign coordination issues to the discipline responsible or team.
- Monitor clash resolution and maintain accurate coordination records.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers to resolve complex technical conflicts.
- Reduce construction rework by identifying coordination problems before site execution.
5. Construction & Technical Support
- Provide BIM support to technical office and site teams.
- Coordinate BIM models with approved shop drawings and construction requirements.
- Support the preparation and review of BIM models for construction and fabrication purposes.
- Assist site teams in resolving technical and coordination issues using BIM models.
- Support construction sequencing and constructability reviews.
- Participate in BIM-based site coordination and progress reviews.
6. IM Deliverables & Documentation - Manage BIM deliverables according to the project schedule and contractual requirements.
- Review models and drawings before submission to ensure quality and completeness.
- Coordinate BIM model updates and submissions with Document Control.
- Maintain BIM coordination reports, clash reports, model registers, and issue logs.
- Ensure all BIM deliverables are properly documented and archived.
- Support the preparation of as-built BIM models and project handover information.
7. Design & Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, façade, interior, infrastructure, and specialist systems where applicable.
- Review design changes and evaluate their impact on coordinated models.
- Work closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, technical office teams, and subcontractors.
- Participate in design review and constructability workshops.
- Identify potential design and construction conflicts at an early stage.
8. Team Leadership & Mentoring
- BIM staff.
- Provide technical guidance and support to BIM Coordinators, BIM Modelers, and junior
- Review the work of BIM team members and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Train team members on BIM workflows, coordination procedures, and software tools.
- Support the BIM Manager in establishing efficient BIM processes.
- Promote BIM best practices and continuous improvement within the project team.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-Minimum 7+ years of relevant BIM experience, preferably within construction and multidisciplinary projects.
