Position Overview

Alivia Group Staffing is establishing an on-call bench of experienced Controllers to support anticipated public-sector financial leadership needs in the Long Beach area. Assignments may include oversight of accounting operations, preparation of audited financial statements, CAFR support, debt management, and financial reporting to executive leadership and governing boards.

This position is part of an on-call talent pool being established for anticipated public-sector financial projects. Placement is contingent upon contract award and client-approved task order requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of accounting and financial reporting functions

• Prepare and review annual audited financial statements and CAFRs

• Oversee debt accounting, bond amortization, and cash flow forecasting

• Ensure compliance with GASB, governmental accounting standards, and internal controls

• Support internal and external audits and respond to audit findings

• Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive leadership and governing boards

• Develop and update financial policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Lead complex financial analyses and special projects

• Advise senior management on fiscal strategy and risk management

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience

• Prior experience serving as a Controller or equivalent in a public-sector or governmental environment

• Advanced knowledge of GASB standards, CAFR preparation, and governmental reporting

• Experience with debt management and complex financial structures

• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems

• Ability to work on-site in Long Beach, CA

• Must be eligible to pass Live Scan background screening

Assignment Details

• Pay Rate: $85 – $115 per hour (W-2)

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours

• Work Location: On-site in Long Beach, CA

• Employment Type: Temporary / On-Call / Project-Based
