Senior Microsoft 365 & Unified Communications Engineer

Job Description

We are supporting an Am Law 50 firm in the search for a Senior Microsoft 365 & Unified Communications Engineer to lead and support enterprise collaboration, messaging, and email platforms.

This role is responsible for the architecture, administration, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments, Teams, and related collaboration tools. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for email lifecycle management, security, and unified communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and support of Microsoft 365 and Unified Communications solutions

• Own Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange architecture, mail flow, and deliverability

• Administer Proofpoint email security (DLP, encryption, routing, policy management)

• Support metadata scrubbing and compliance tools such as Metadact

• Manage DNS, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, connectors, and transport rules

• Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for messaging and UC issues

• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams

• Develop technical documentation and operational runbooks

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Microsoft 365, Exchange, or Unified Communications engineering

• Expert knowledge of Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments

• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint email security solutions

• Strong understanding of the full email lifecycle and messaging security

• Experience with Azure AD, conditional access, MFA, and identity security

• PowerShell scripting experience

• Law firm or professional services experience preferred

• Full-time, permanent role

• Fully remote, must reside in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Orange County, CA

• Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM PST

• Salary range: $120,000 – $140,000 base + full benefits
