Position Overview

Alivia Group Staffing is building an on-call bench of qualified Staff Accountants to support anticipated public-sector accounting projects in the Long Beach area. Assignments are project-based and may be used to support day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.

This position is part of an on-call talent pool being established for anticipated public-sector accounting projects in the Long Beach area. Placement is contingent upon contract award and client task order requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional accounting duties in support of public-sector operations

• Prepare and process journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

• Support internal and external audits through documentation and analysis

• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with policies and procedures

• Assist senior accounting staff with special projects and reporting requests

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience

• Public-sector or government accounting experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of GASB standards is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work on-site in Long Beach, CA

• Must be eligible to pass Live Scan background screening

Assignment Details

• Pay Rate: $35 – $50 per hour (W-2)

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

• Work Location: On-site in Long Beach, CA

• Employment Type: Temporary / On-Call / Project-Based
