Job Description:
CTDI is seeking highly skilled Senior Field Technicians with a focus on telecommunications power systems to join our team. This role involves performing and supervising the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will fully understand and implement the customers standards of safety, installation quality, processes, and communication methods.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Fully understand and enforce standards of professionalism, quality, safety, metrics, and processes.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives.
Maintain positive relations with customers and ensure customer satisfaction.
Understand and comply with installer task descriptions and restrictions as defined within Telcordia GR-1275-CORE.
Responsible for the team tool kit and team van (including proper appearance and maintenance of the van).
Escalate any issues to the immediate Supervisor for assistance with resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform an assessment of AC and DC power risk related to the project and develop a plan to mitigate the risk, including arc flash hazard protection requirements.
Write DMOPs in adherence with customer, vendor, and industry standards and requirements.
Perform an inventory of materials against the BOM and engineering documents, and report any shortages to the Project Supervisor.
Conduct on-site layout of the project according to engineering documents and BOM prior to construction. Communicate with the Project Engineer to resolve discrepancies.
Install and/or modify cable conveyances and office infrastructure per engineering documents and customer standards.
Pull cable into place according to engineering documents and on-site installation layout. Demonstrate proper lacing technique.
Install, replace, or repair DC power equipment, batteries, and associated equipment per engineering documents and customer standards.
Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits, including circuit modifications, software additions or upgrades, power transition work, and addition or removal of batteries.
Perform initial programming of DC power plant controllers and input changes as required.
Perform Midtronics battery testing and interpret results; address any notable deviations.
Perform battery charging per customers standards.
Complete quality checklists at job completion and ensure correction of any quality non-conformances.
Perform equipment test and turn-up, either independently or with the customer.
Mark/correct office record drawings and perform site surveys independently.
Minimum Qualifications:
Serve as the Installation Suppliers in-charge person.
Supervise multiple sites thoroughly.
Manage inventory of material and equipment for each assigned project.
Keep the Project Management team and all customer stakeholders updated on project status as requested.
Accurately track all time and expenses and submit using approved methods on a timely basis.
Ensure timely job completion within budgeted man-hours.
Identify, communicate, and facilitate resolution of job issues (e.g., manpower, material, engineering, technical support, etc.) promptly.
Direct supervision and on-the-job training of field personnel.
Effectively delegate tasks and assignments.
Mentor lower-level installation technicians.
Enforce corporate and divisional policies.
