Job Title: Bookkeeper (George, Western Cape)

Our client are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing inventory, processing purchase orders, and capturing employee time sheets. This person will also be responsible for general administrative support, including coordinating meetings, drafting minutes, and assisting the CEO and team as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase orders and loading new inventory items into the system.
  • Managing inventory and ensuring that inventory records match that of Pastel.
  • Capturing goods receipts and issuing inventory to projects.
  • Maintaining bills of materials and tracking project costs and profitability.
  • Capturing employee time sheets and issuing labour costs to projects.
  • Maintaining a register of active projects and reporting on exact project costs and profitability at any time needed.
  • Arranging courier services as needed. 
  • Capturing customer quotations and assisting with debtor management. 
  • Maintaining leave register for all employees.
  • Coordinating meetings, capturing attendance registers, and drafting minutes of meetings.
  • Tracking the use of grant funding and reporting to shareholders and funders. 
  • Assisting the CEO and team as needed. 
  • General administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and filing documents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Experience with inventory management and Pastel accounting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and Pastel Partner.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Ability to create and implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
