Job Description:
As a Maya/Substance Texture Artist at Silverspoon, you will play a crucial role in crafting high-quality 3D assets and textures for our real-time AR broadcasts. You will work closely with our creative and technical teams to ensure that our AR experiences are visually stunning and engaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Texture Creation: Produce high-quality textures and materials for 3D models using Substance Painter and other industry-standard software.
- UV Mapping: Create efficient UV maps for 3D assets to ensure optimal texture placement and quality.
- Asset Integration: Collaborate with 3D modelers and animators to seamlessly integrate textures into 3D assets within Maya and Unreal Engine.
- Material Shading: Develop and implement shading materials to achieve the desired look and feel of assets in real-time AR environments.
- Quality Control: Ensure the visual quality and consistency of textures across different platforms and devices.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
While the following skills and qualifications are not mandatory, they would be considered a significant advantage:
- Experience with Unreal Engine: Familiarity with Unreal Engine and the ability to work within its material and shading systems.
- 3D Modeling Knowledge: Understanding of 3D modeling principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with 3D modelers.
- Scripting and Coding: Basic scripting or coding skills in languages such as Python or Blueprint scripting within Unreal Engine.
- VR/AR Experience: Prior experience in creating content for VR or AR applications.
- Strong Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing previous work in texture creation and material shading.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Texture Artist in a professional setting, with a focus on Maya and Substance Painter.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality textures and materials.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
