Educational Background BSMT or BSMarE degree
Master's degree, preferably related to BSMT / BSMarE degree
Licenses / Certifications Management Level
Operational Level license holder
Completed the Training Course for Instructors (IMO Model Course 6.09) or its equivalent as approved by the Maritime Administration
Completed Training Course on Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers (IMO Model Course 3.12) or its equivalent as approved by the Maritime Administration.
Completed the Train the Simulator Trainer and Assessor (IMO Model Course 6.10)
Work Experience A: Management Level Officer
Twenty-Four (24) months of seagoing experience as Management Level Officer
Two (2) years of teaching experience
B: Management Level Officer
Twelve (12) months of seagoing experience as Management Level Officer
Three (3) years of teaching experience
One (1) year of supervisory experience
C: Management Level Officer
Twenty Four (24) months of seagoing experience as Management Level Officer
Five (5) years of teaching experience
Three (3) years of supervisory experience
D: Officer in Charge of a Watch with the following qualifications:
Thirty-Six (36) months of seagoing experience as Officer in Charge of a Watch
Five (5) years of teaching experience
Three (3) years of supervisory experience
Knowledge Advanced knowledge of marine engineering principles, maritime transportation, maritime laws, and regulations
Familiarity with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
Academic Program Development, Curriculum Design and Accreditation Processes.
Skills Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage the department effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and industry professionals.
