About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gold Leaf Painter to join our finishing team in Doha, Qatar. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented artisan with hands-on experience in applying gold leaf and metallic finishes to decorative surfaces, furniture, fixtures, or architectural elements. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, luxurious finishes that meet project and design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply gold leaf and metallic finishes by hand to a variety of surfaces including wood, plaster, metal, and other architectural elements.

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming, and sealing before gold leaf application.

• Mix and apply adhesives (size), carefully lay gold leaf sheets, and perform proper burnishing and sealing.

• Follow design specifications, samples, or mockups to achieve the required aesthetic and texture.

• Touch up and repair gold-leafed surfaces when needed.

• Collaborate with designers, finishing carpenters, and project managers to ensure finish quality and consistency.

• Maintain tools and materials in good condition and follow all health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in gold leaf or decorative painting, preferably in high-end interior or fit-out projects.

• Strong understanding of traditional gilding techniques, materials, and tools.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to fine detail.

• Ability to read and interpret design references or finish schedules.

• Patience, precision, and a steady hand for detailed work.

• Knowledge of sealing and protecting gold leaf finishes for durability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in fine arts, decorative painting, or specialty finishing is a plus.

• Previous work experience in Qatar or GCC region is an advantage.

• Experience working with custom furniture, luxury interiors, or heritage restoration projects.
