Job Overview:
The Procurement Staff member is responsible for managing the purchase of materials, supplies, and services necessary for construction projects. This role involves negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Planning: Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best quality and cost efficiency.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the most favorable terms for the company.
- Order Processing: Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary materials while minimizing excess stock.
- Cost Control: Track and report on procurement expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement transactions and supplier contracts.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new products or services.
- Problem Resolution: Address any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and manage resolutions efficiently.
