Job Openings Pharmacy Manager

About the job Pharmacy Manager

AlediumHR is representing a global pharmaceutical organization preparing to open a new pharmacy location in Clarinda, Iowa, in Spring 2026.

They're looking for a Pharmacy Manager to lead the buildout and ongoing operations of this site. This is not a plug-and-play role—you'll have real influence over how the pharmacy is run, the team you build, and the experience delivered to the community.

If you've led a pharmacy before and want more ownership, this is the kind of opportunity that doesn't come around often.

Location: Onsite – Clarinda, Iowa

The Opportunity

You'll take the lead across both clinical care and day-to-day operations. That means setting the tone, building the team, and making sure everything—from patient care to compliance to financial performance—runs the way it should.

This role is hands-on. You're not sitting in an office removed from the work. You'll be in it with your team and your patients.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards
  • Lead the evaluation, preparation, and dispensing of medications with a high level of clinical accuracy
  • Work directly with patients to answer questions, guide therapy, and build long-term trust
  • Review and validate treatment plans for appropriateness and effectiveness
  • Partner with prescribers and care teams to align on patient care decisions
  • You'll also own the business and team side of the pharmacy:
  • Hire, train, and lead pharmacy staff, including technicians
  • Set expectations, monitor performance, and address issues quickly
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining a strong patient experience
  • Oversee prescription claims, reimbursement accuracy, and financial performance
  • Ensure proper handling of controlled substances, documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Step into escalated situations and resolve patient concerns without delay
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, service levels, and overall operations

What They're Looking For

  • PharmD or Bachelor's in Pharmacy from an accredited program
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license
  • Prior leadership experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of retail or ambulatory pharmacy experience with increasing responsibility

What Separates the Right Leader

  • You've led a team before and know how to hold people accountable without overcomplicating things
  • You understand both the clinical and business side of pharmacy—and can balance both
  • You stay composed under pressure and make decisions quickly
  • You take ownership. If something's off, you fix it
  • Experience with the 340B program is a plus

This is a chance to build something the right way from the start. If you've been in a leadership role and want more control, more input, and more impact, this is where you step in.
