AlediumHR is representing a well-established healthcare organization seeking a Director of Surgical Services (RN) to lead a critical, high-impact department. This role is based in Missoula, MT.

This is a leadership role for someone who knows surgical operations, understands the demands of perioperative services, and can drive both clinical and operational performance. You'll have full responsibility for the department—staff, budgets, quality, and outcomes.

What You'll Lead

  • Overall direction of Surgical Services, including clinical and operational performance
  • Department staffing, development, and accountability
  • Budget planning, financial oversight, and resource allocation
  • Quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

What You'll Do

  • Set and execute departmental goals aligned with organizational priorities
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring patient care delivery meets quality and safety standards
  • Lead hiring, training, performance management, and staff development
  • Manage budgets and ensure departments operate within financial targets
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Serve as the point of accountability for service performance and patient outcomes
  • Build a culture that supports teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

  • Active (or eligible) Montana RN license
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in Surgical Services with leadership at the Manager or Director level
  • Strong understanding of perioperative operations and patient care workflows
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA)
  • BLS upon hire; ACLS and PALS within 6 months
