Software Engineer - UI & Data Services

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Studio Publish team. This role involves building and maintaining the interface and data services for our customer facing creator studio. As part of a collaborative and agile team, you will contribute to delivering cutting-edge solutions while improving architecture, scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.

In this position, youll work closely with software developers, quality engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain critical customer facing UIs and services used to create, edit, and publish content.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand API requirements, data formats, and workflows.
• Design and build new products intended to enhance our product suite and make life easier for our customers.
• Write reliable, efficient, scalable, and maintainable code, with a strong emphasis on testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Perform extensive testing to ensure functionality, data accuracy, and error handling.
• Implement robust security measures and authentication protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Develop detailed technical documentation for APIs, including specifications, usage guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.

Technical Skills

Must-Have:

• Strong proficiency in React, Ruby on Rails, and SQL, with a proven ability to demonstrate depth in these areas.
• 3+ years of experience with UI and API development and maintaining scalable microservices.
• Familiarity with protocols such as REST and data formats like JSON.
• Knowledge of authentication methods like OAuth, API keys, and JWT.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React.js), and Ruby.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Experience with various AWS services.
• Experience with with Github, Jira, and Slack
• Open-source contributions or personal side projects.

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to document and actively participate in virtual meetings.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently across time zones.

Product and Agile Experience

• Experience with SaaS product development, focusing on observability, performance tuning, and addressing technical debt.
