Data Analyst
The data team is the central nervous system of business operations. As a Data Analyst on the team, you will help distill our data into actionable and explanatory business insights. This role will involve statistical analysis, data cleaning, and presentation of data narratives for data scientists and other stakeholders at the company.
This full-time role will report to a manager in the NYC office and be remote. It offers a wide range of growth opportunities, including learning data engineering and machine learning tools and workflows.
As a Data Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the rest of the data team to:
- Query and gather data from multiple sources.
- Clean and quality-check the data.
- Perform statistical analyses.
- Visualize the results, either in a dashboarding platform or in scripted code.
- Present a comprehensive data story for non-technical stakeholders.
- Learn (if interested) machine learning and other engineering skill sets actively
- used by the team, as they align with your professional development goals.
We are looking for someone with:
- 1-3 years of professional experience (or equivalent track record) extracting statistical trends and insights from data.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in statistics and quantitative reasoning.
- An exceptional attention to detail, given that much of the team's work involves merging and reconciling data from multiple sources.
- A cautious adventurer mindset in tackling new challenges, including those in unfamiliar subjects.

- A background in the social or physical sciences.
- Experience working with real estate data, economics data, geographical data, or image data.
- Experience or strong interest in Python.
- Experience working with PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms.
- Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM data
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and packages (e.g. scikit-learn, XGBoost).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as AWS and GCP.
- Familiarity or experience with source control (e.g. git) and container (e.g. Docker) tools.
