Operations Engineer Data & Database Focus

Role Overview

At Gotransverse, we've built and continue to refine our approach to Service Reliability Engineering. Our Operations team consists of exceptional engineers with deep expertise across software, network, data, and systems engineering. Together, they design, manage, and maintain infrastructure and services that require minimal administration, embracing the philosophy that operational components should be treated with the same rigor and discipline as software.

We are strong believers in DevOps principles and methodologies, and we work to empower all engineerswhether system-focused or feature-focused build and deploy scalable, reliable, and impactful solutions.

We are now looking to add another engineer to our Operations team, specifically someone with a strong background in databases and data management. This engineer will eventually join our on-call rotation and share responsibility for end-to-end service delivery and reliability alongside the rest of the Company service delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reliability, performance, and scalability of core services
• Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot database systems (SQL)
• Respond to production incidents and participate in the on-call rotation
• Automate operational workflows and build internal tools to reduce manual intervention
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CI/CD and operational practices
• Contribute to improvements in infrastructure efficiency and service resilience

Required Skills

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, backup/restore, and replication
• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
• Knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Understanding of observability tools and principles (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
